Bagheera is the tritagonist of The Jungle Book series of books by Rudyard Kipling and its film adaptations. He serves as the guardian of Mowgli and the reluctant companion of Baloo.
He is a dark gray panther with yellow eyes and black pupils with a gray muzzle, a pink nose with a pair of numerous whiskers and black eyebrows. In his first appearance he is a normal panther but in his return in the Anthro Saga he wears a white shirt with no tie, black trousers and a black jacket. At times, he also wears white robes.
The Anthro Saga
Alongside Fox, and Nava, Bagheera is one of the wisest and influential individuals in Animalia as the secretary of state of Animalia, unlike Fox it is not shown that Bagheera is married but he is also known to be very religious and often attends religious sessions.
In the end though, it is Bagheera's time in the government that is his downfall. After the first coup of Animalia, Bagheera manages to avoid deportation as he simply flees the country to the United Kingdom where he flees to Buckinghamshire and resides in Chicheley Hall. Two days before the day of his assassination, Bagheera is exploring the hall's gardens unaware that he is being watched by an assassin who fires a gunshot at him but narrowly misses.
The assassin then continues to chase him through the gardens and through the house then fires at him again but decides to give up and call it a day after a long gunfight. The assassin then returns again two days later as Bagheera is around the gardens again and takes aim shooting the panther in the chest. Bagheera tries to go back inside but reaches the lounge before he collapses and dies.
After the dictatorship, Bagheera's body is brought to Animalia and like Fox and Nava he is granted a state funeral.
