Muhammad Naguib

Muhammad Naguib was the first President of Egypt following the declaration of the Republic of Egypt in 1953 to to 1954 when he was forced to hand over power to Gamal Abdel Nasser, he served with Nasser and Anwar Sadat in 1952 to overthrow the monarchy but after his diposal he was kept in isolation for 18 years until he was released by Sadat in 1972, he finally died in 1984. Though of different spellings the Egyptian dog Mohammed is named after him.
