The Thresher is the code-name of a submarine used by the National Protection Process.
Thresher was named after the shark of the same name
Every submarine used by the National Protection Process are named after sharks and for Thresher, it is said that this is for good reason; because its namesake, the Akula class submarine, has also been described as "The Soviet Shark".
Like its namesake, the Thresher is probably one of the most lethal and notorious submarines used by the N.P.P.
